Open Space are an innovative theatre company aiming to offer opportunities to all ages and abilities, alongside creating exciting and provocative work for the stage.
Open Space members have worked professionally both on and backstage as writers, actors, directors, technicians, designers and devisors of theatre. As a company our passions lay in the mixing of styles and crossing of boundaries in the theatre with much of our work consisting of contemporary methodologies with naturalistic ideals. Alongside work with existing published texts we are constantly developing new work for the stage. As creators in the theatre we believe that a live performance must reflect the ideologies of today's world, challenging and provoking together with entertaining those who view it.
Learning Through Drama - inspire teach talk listen
As a company Open Space realise the potential of drama in learning environments, encouraging creativity, diversity and intelligence in young people through practical work and exercises. Open Space members have delivered many successful drama training and educational programmes across the country.
As a company we aim to pinpoint the needs of schools and their students in learning through drama. Alongside developing learning methods we encourage life skills in young people such as communication, team building, confidence and presentation.
Encouraging creativity - pride enthusiasm ambition drive
Our interest is also in training people creatively, offering courses and workshops in various areas of drama, encouraging further grass roots in the arts, developing talent, ability and ambition in people in the community.
